About Volt Rescue

Why we are here

At VoltRescue, we are building the resilient charging infrastructure that powers South Africa’s transition to electric mobility.

Expanding Across Mzansi 🇿🇦

VoltRescue was launched in Gauteng—powering drivers across Midrand, Sandton, Centurion, Rosebank, and Pretoria.

To support the rapid nationwide adoption of electric passenger cars, delivery vans, and commercial trucks, VoltRescue is aggressively expanding its mobile charging fleet to all major South African metropolitan hubs:

  • Gauteng Metro (Active) – Greater Johannesburg, Sandton, Midrand, Centurion & Pretoria.

  • Western Cape – Cape Town City Bowl, Northern Suburbs, Winelands, and the N1/N2 logistics corridors.

  • KwaZulu-Natal – EThekwini/Durban Metro, Umhlanga, Ballito, and the N3 freight corridor.

  • Eastern Cape & Inland Hubs – Gqeberha, East London, and Bloemfontein.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast will a VoltRescue truck arrive after I request help?

Our average arrival time across primary Gauteng metro zones (Midrand, Sandton, Centurion, Rosebank, and Pretoria) is under 30 minutes. VIP R799 subscribers and B2B Fleet partners receive top-priority queue positioning with a 15–20 minute SLA target.

How much battery range will I get during a 15-minute emergency charge?

A standard 15-minute DC fast-charging session delivers 15 kWh to 25 kWh directly to your battery. Depending on your EV model and driving style, this adds 40 km to 80 km of range—plenty to safely reach home, work, or the nearest stationary fast charger.

Is mobile DC charging safe for my vehicle's battery?

Yes, 100%. Our mobile units use commercial-grade high-voltage DC chargers equipped with real-time thermal controls. They communicate directly with your car's Battery Management System (BMS) via standard CCS2 connectors, following the exact same safety protocols as stationary DC fast chargers.

What is the difference between Pay-As-You-Use and the Metro Plan?

Pay-As-You-Use (Call out fee + charging fee) is designed for non-subscribers who need immediate emergency charging on-demand.

The Metro Plan (R299/month) is our consumer safety net. It includes 1 free emergency callout per month (capped at 5 per year), priority dispatch over casual users, and heavily discounted rates if you ever need additional rescues.

Can VoltRescue boost my EV at my home or office driveway?

Yes. While our Metro Plan focuses on roadside emergencies, our R799 VIP Plan includes 1 free scheduled pre-trip top-up per month at your driveway or office park—allowing you to start long trips with an 80% charge without waiting in public charger queues.

How does VoltRescue handle commercial delivery fleets?

We act as Downtime Insurance for e-commerce and logistics operators. Instead of paying R2,500+ for a flatbed tow truck that ruins delivery schedules, our mobile units charge your stranded delivery van on-route in 15 minutes. We offer customised fleet SLAs fees charged per month with centralised corporate billing.
